The Accelerate curriculum is designed to inspire and develop students through a variety of complementary activities. These range from a series of stand-alone lectures and workshops which aim to broaden their experience of mathematics and its applications.
As part of this curriculum, students will also undertake the CMS Mathematics Certificate, a project-based course aimed at fostering independent study skills crucial for university and workplace success. To ensure a well-rounded experience, students will also participate in team-building exercises, mathematics and science competitions, and arts and culture engagements. Complementing the academic rigor, the program includes a variety of sports and games every Thursday afternoon, offering activities such as badminton, ultimate frisbee, netball, dodgeball, touch rugby, football, cricket, and table tennis. Students can switch sports each half term and suggest new activities, ensuring a dynamic and engaging experience. These sessions will occur regularly throughout year 12 and the first two terms of year 13.
